Terrarium grown plants, propagated by Understory Enterprises Inc. in Ontario, Canada. For plant inquiries contact Plants@IndoorEcosystems.com.
Origin: Central and South America
Description: This charming little fern is broadly distributed throughout Central America and Northern South America. In Peru at least, it grows at intermediate elevations ~500 - 1200 masl and seems as likely to colonize boulders as it is to tree limbs. The plants often grow to form dense mats frequently comprised of hundreds of individual plants which develop and emerge from the root cluster. Slow growing but not difficult. Fronds are rounded and usually about 1cm wide. The sori spike often rises a few cm above the fronds. Very limited availability.
