Continue ShoppingThe lush temperate forests of North America are home to an incredible diversity of salamanders, unrivaled anywhere else on the planet: in parts of the southern Appalachian Mountains, up to 15 species of terrestrial salamanders can be found sharing the same habitat.
By far the greatest diversity of salamanders is found in the family Plethodontidae, the lungless Woodland salamanders. This family exhibits a spectrum of life histories – from fully aquatic to fully terrestrial – and everything in between. Â
Indoor Ecosystems is working with perhaps the largest captive collection of plethodontid salamanders in the world. Many of the species have never before been reproduced in a captive setting, and availability of all taxa is extremely limited.
Please be aware that legal restrictions may prevent sales of these amphibians to some states.Â
